x t ' t f SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Remember way back when ln the tall of 1930 a group of proud but somewhat reluctant young scholars entered mto Mrs Rachel Srrnpson s Cup untll thenD peaceful room On the roll we fxnd the names of brown eyed Helen Brown befreckled Nutty Hyatt dap per Rtchard Kenepp glamour g1rl Brlly Loclcrrdge ta1r mlnded Dean McKa1g dare devll George Cady chubby lohnny Bob Lessley gentlemanly Kenneth Street frall dlctlonary m1nded Wayne Ph1ll1ps qu1et pet1t W1lmoth Ann Thur man art1st1c Patsy Schnell tall blonde Venus lam1e S1mpson and nolsy Wawyer Spry We learned such amazmg th1ngs as readmg and pflllllllq The next year we Jorned MISS Emlly Owen 1n the toothless grade as her last class On ra1ny days we fought to see who would put on her overshoes We sat around tables and sang Columb1a the Gem ot the Ocean and other patr1ot1c songs Two of our members stayed out so long when sent on an er rand they were belleved ktdnapped ln the th1rd grade w1th MISS Alexander as a teacher we had the exc1t1ng new addttlons of lrmmy Mrtchell and long d1v1s1on rn arrthmettc Mtss Sud1e subdued our rather w1ld group notlcably 1n the fourth grade by a few well drrected slaps Th1s year we hanged rooms for classes oh Joy' C33 II II I . . SENIOR CLASS HISTORY QContmuedD As flfth graders Mtss Ehzabeth helped us welcome Ernest McM1llan and the year passed qulckly on We reached our goal Mtss Russells stxth grade We were busy l1ttle- bees leadtng the lower grade when we marched upstatrs runntng varxous rmportant errands and runnrng off tests on the dupllcator Oh the bttter tear we shed as we left the sacred portals of Lawrence I Daly At f1rst wlde eyed and stup1f1ed we entered the corrtdors of F H S and the seventh grade Thrs year Roy Ashcraft and Dorothy Beamon Jotned our group By the end of the year we had regalned our former porse enough to g1ve a revolutronary assembly program and we were deslgnated the black sheep of the school Our notorlous gang moved to the exghth grade where we deltghted m pesterlng Mrs Fleece rn study hall V1ncent Manlon adaed to our tmportance by Joxnmg us th1s year As freshmen and green ones too we were lnvaded by a large group of newcomers conslstmg of Nancy Hammond Martha Lou1se and Mary Opal Earl Georgranna Hager I1mm1e Ann W1ll1ams Maryone Sm1th Wtlma Lee Wrlght Carl Ktlgore Harold Lloyd Leroy Crrgler Henry Mallrnckrodt Curtts Owen Howard Ray and Iuntor Constantz lt took us a long ttme to ftgure everyone out Now wlth a great deal of self assurance and new classmates Lew1s Allen and Elbert Hrckman we served at the Iunror Sentor Banquet IH some ducky httle Dutch costumes We got down to busmess our Junror year wlth Hugh Barrett as a new arrlval and successfully sponsored the Hallowe en Carmval We then enter tamed the senlors to the strarns of sweet Hawa11an mustc at the banquet lt was our ntght to howl and we dtdl We are semors' Dons Adlasson 1o1ned us th1s year We found lots of hltherto undrscovered talent to put on the senlor Play and to perform our dunes as school leaders We reyotced at the banquet 1n our honor and looked con clescendtngly upon the grades beneath us for we are at the h1ghest step of the ladder As thts year ends we graduate We btd one last fond adteu to our be loved school and teachers G34 1 1 . 1 . . - 1 1 - 1 ' , . . . . . 11 11 1 . , . . , . 1 1 1 , , 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 f 1 1 1 - r 1 ' 1 r .
