Boy Scouts of Amerxca Troop 62 0 First Row Jackie Murphy Paul Galatas Billy Joe Crigler Keith Innes Johnny Walker Bob Varncr Bob Innes Jimmie Turmr Harold Ross Weir Donald Mauk Second Row Burford McCorkle Paul Clingenpeel Denny Davis Roy Wernu Bill Wright Lowrll Allrn Glen Collur Robert Allen Donald Schwalje Bobby Gtorgr Third Row Henry L xwrr nce James Paul Alexander Wallace Jacobs Leonard Lam The past school year has been an eventful one for Troop 62 To begin with we went to the Area Swim Meet last summer and there we took first in 6 of the l l events Star of the meet was Carlos McCullough who came home with three blue ribbons This tall we started in with our wastepaper for defense effort which has taken much of our time smce then Although we have tried to help our country as much as possible we have also had time for some of our scouts to advance in rank For instance at our last court of honor two scouts received the coveted Eagle award while another received his Eagle gola palm Other scouts have in nearly every case advanced at least one rank or have acquired several new merlt badges A Senior Patrol has been organized from the older boys of the troop who have been active in leadership work and they have planned several events for the near future Highlight of the spring season was the Father and Son Chili Supper in ea ly April Then we launched our Victory Garden Contest the outcome of wnich IS as yet indefinite We of Troop 62 which is now reputedly one of the best in the Council are looking to a future with great hope for increased accomplishment and a de termination to help our nation tn whatever way we are permitted C10 . . , 0 O 0 I T K I 1 Q I . v . 1 ' Q 1 x Y I 3 ' x Y ' I X. x 1.
