The Class Prophecy In May 1988 the Vice-President of the United States, none other than Jack Dispennett, came to visit the now prosperous oil-town of New Goshen. Larry Strole, Mayor of New Goshen met Jack's plane, 'The Yellow Jacket,' upon arrival at the Robinson Air Field. As Jack was checking into the Conner-Stewart Hotel, he met the Coroner, Fred Crosby. Fred invited him to a dinner meeting at the swanky Harmon's Diner where the famous night- club slnger, Rita Joy, was entertaining. The next celebrity to return to New Goshen was the world-renowned artist, Judy Farmer. Her lawyer, Wilma Barnard of the W. L. B. Law Firm, who was in town for a Lawyer's Convention met the train. They were re- laxing on the terrace of the Conner-Stewart Hotel when two black Cadillacs chaufferred by Dallas Goodwin and Charles Denham, came to a screeching halt In the first Cadillac were Peggy Vermillion a grade teacher in Michigan, and Dick Baum, owner of the Baum's Department Store in near by Chicago In the second Cadillac were Ella Shell and Virginia Boatman who had teamed with Ronald Salmond in organizing Salmond's Salmon Cannery State Trooper Bob Edwards stopped at the hotel to tell us that two star baseball players, Tom Wheat and Don Wilson, were involved in a slight accident and were taken to Coy Shell's Private Hospital in a Manley Ambulance where they were treated by the famous physician, Doctor Jerry Yates, and his nurse Jane Piker, who had just returned from world wide travels with the United States Nursing Corps We were glad to learn that the boys were releas d after obse vation Ebb had his radio tuned in to Jerry Lloys's Jive Jumpers Review where Larry Wheat's latest hit 'Shake, Daddy, Shake' was rocking at a nervous tempo The remainder of the 'Class of l958n were still at Fayette High Bob Branaman was the very effecient principal, Marion Vermillion was teaching a 'Hot Bod' Drivers Education Class, Don Meadlo was teaching Commerce,aHL Joe Rogers was teaching Civics VMS faiyiijmwfl Mm an se Q
