Class History Cont Hext was the arrival of the Junior Senior Banquet Plans were made and committees were chosen for the biggest evening of our Junior year The Banquet was held at the Deming Hotel on May ll 1951 Jimmy Adami and his orchestra played for the dancing Mr Esperson and a group of girls from Concannon provided dinner music, and Marlott's Dancing School provided a floor show Because of illness Mrs Miller, our sponsor, was unable to attend Mr Hayworth took over the responsibilities of the Prom, and helped make it a very nice event Charles Welker was crowned King of the Prom and Ruth Blackburn was crowned Queen Two weeks before school was out we were sorry to lose Kenneth Lang This left us with a total of twenty nine students when the school season closed OUT At the beginning of this year, we had a total number of twenty seven students having lost Mary Carter and Rene Jessup We elected Mrs Miller as our sponsor for the third time We also elected Ray Allen Cox as President Kenneth Higgs as Vice President Lulu Belle Haymaker as Secretary Ruth Blackburn as Treasurer and Marilyn Wheat as News Reporter The first thing we did was to select our name cards and announcements which make us feel more like seniors Next we chose Barbara Mer itt as our editor of the Yearbook with Ruth Blackburn as Business Manager We had our first semester party on October 19 in the gym and a good time was enjoyed by all On March lb, we had our musical revue lvery senior class member participated and heloed make this project a big success During the second semester our class had a dinner at the Golden Pheasant After the dinner we went to t e Wigwam Roller Rink and skated until midnight Mr A Mrs Edward Hardie and Mr A Mrs Jess Miller were chosen as chaparones On May 16 1952, the juniors gave a banquet for us We enjoyed it very much On May 18 1952, the Baccalaureate Services were held in the gvmnasium Commencement exercises were held May 19 and we received our diplomas and gave a big sigh Our last day at Fayette was Class Day May 20, on which Helen Combs reigned as the Yearbook Queen Her attend ants were Shirley Crist, Mary Caughlin and Marjorie Rhoden Qalenbar August School Started January Wabash Valley Games October Teachers Institute November Scotland Game West Terre Haute Game Movie Blackhawk Gems March Senior Variety Show Bsllmors Game Mat Prom Freshmen Party Baccalaureate Movie Commencement Concannon Game Class Day Junior Carnival Last Day Movie Prairie Creek Game December Brocton Game Movie Mecca Game Newport Game Teachers' Party Stanfield's Party January St Bernice Game Blackhawk Game Wabash Valley Games 29 15 ' 25 19 n u It 26 ll n 23 n u u 2 Zh N ' N 7 I! ll n 8 26 nl n ll 9 ll-V 15 5 16 1 18 lg 19 1 20 21 21 29 30 U 6 7 11 lb 1? 5 . ll 16 17 li IO I 18
