The Seniors, in diaphonous white gowns-their flower girls in soft pastels-made an impressive picture as they proceeded down the aisles. The speaker of the evening was Canon Schu- felt, whom several of the girls had met at the Lake Forest Conference the preceding Iune. His address on this occasion-in which he gave advice and best wishes to the graduates-was no less enjoyable than his talks had been at the conference the previous summer. Following the commencement ceremony, the school was rapidly filled with glowing students, their handsome dates, and proud parents. Nostalgia filled the air, already saturated with the heavy tra- grance of dozens upon dozens of peonies. A recep- tion and a dance, qiven in the gym by the luniors, concluded a night of rapture, long to be remembered by all that were there, whether young or old. Lynda Bauer .. This inspired costumes ranging from those of the dreamers who envision a world of robots and spacemen to those of the practi- cal people who came as their own ghosts. Prizes for the best costumes were awarded to a robot from the Intermediate, a Venusian from the high school, and ghosts-complete with appropriate epitaphs-from the faculty. Next on the program were the skits, pre- sented by each class from eighth grade through Seniors. After much deliberation, the judges award- ed the prize to the Iuniors for a portrayal of a Student Government meeting of the future.
