Salutes f mx Mrs. Raisa Leorza Women Mrs. Leorza was born in Cuba in 1917. She was graduated from the University of Havana and she taught English until she was forced to leave her homeland in 1963 during the severe political unrest in Cuba. Mrs. Leorza came to Father Lopez in 1965. She earned some needed credits at Bethune-Cookman and she began teaching Spanish. That was seventeen years ago. When we speak of Raisa Leorza, we can- not help but use words like dedication, courage and faith. She attributes much to her husband Luis-and smiles when she remembers they have been married 40 years. When graduates of Father Lopez come back to see the old school you can be sure that a stop to see Mrs. Leorza is first on their list. During her teaching career she has personally touched thousands of students who had an opportunity to meet a true Christian educator. 19

Veritas Sister Christine Marian, R.S.H.M. Career Sr. Christine was born in New York City. A a young woman she realized she had a vocatio to serve God in a very special way. She joine the religious order of The Sacred Heart o Mary. Sister Christine has been around th world sewing God as an educator. For exam ple, she has taught in France and Italy and i Columbia. When Sister came to Father Lope in 1976, she brought with her both administra tive experience and teaching experience i Math, Spanish, and Social Studies. She cur rently serves as the Assistant Principal for Aca demic Affairs. Sister makes herself readil available to both students and faculty, and i always willing to help in any way she can. Th door of her office is always open and to us i symbolizes an open and constantly lovin Christian heart. Thank you Sister for alway being there ......
