They're proud to say that they are doing their part to bring the eultural studies of fine words and Inusie into our Baker-Yietory Atlas. Beeause the elub had its start in the seeond seinester, they did not plan or prepare any speeial programs. I guess they were too shy! Presently they are eoneen- trating on developing their voiees. The singers, utiliz- ing two or three different voice parts, were singing a Variety of songs which range froin light folk songs to deeper religious hymns. However, from what I heard, I aln sure a we-ll pol- ished group will be filling the halls of li-Y with that good old fashion harmony. lx..I oynt, Xl. Skipper, F. Novak, Nl. llove. Wvard. .fanny Lv no aomjbri I0 one not Shakespeare' Social Committee Now as far I am concerned, there's nothing like a good old fashion dance, and I sure had a good time at B-V. Ive have a tradition here at B-V-Friday night record hops. The social Committee was respon- sible for the success of these soeials. They staged monthly Saturday night features accompanied by the musie of the Rebels.', Blany nights saw the committee decorating the gym, managing the coatroom and col- lecting tickets at the door. Their purpose of arousing an interest among stu- dents to get out and meet new friends was definitely accomplished. I know for I met countless friends and fell in love with each one. IYe here at Baker-Victory know that society makes the world. For sure, B-Y is a friendly, friendly world. I.l'lF'l' T0 RIGIIT: T. Morganti, J. Thomas, J. Downs, A. Mullmuer, M. K. Cantwell, M. Student Council I was deeply impressed as I sat in on the deliberations of the august govern- ing body of the B-V worldff'-the Student Council. Its purpose is to promote leader- ship, scholarship, and school spiritg in a Word: to make the students better citi- zens of their country. Not the least of its duties is to promote cooperation of stu- dents and faculty. Their responsibilities have been great, and they have acquitted themselves well of our trust in their ability They have represented B-V in its rela- tions with the other worlds of our exist- ence. The brave voiced our opinions at the regular sessions of the Catholic-Inter- High-School Student Council as well as at other student conferences of NVQ-stern New York such as the Teenage Confer- ences on Youth and the Family.
