Varsity Football The Baker-Victory Braves started the season otl' by defeating the first two teams they played: Notre Dame of Batavia and St. Francis of .-Xthol Springs. Shortly thereafter, however, the Braves were defeated and held scoreless by four other teams. Nlany people, forgetting the small enrollment of our school, felt that Baker-Victory had a team capahle of taking the championship, hut the B-Y football team of 1958 ended their season with three wins and five losses. lt seemed to he the familiar story of, Too many teams, with too much ammu- nition. 'l ne following players, however, do deserve ex- tra credit for their efforts on this year's team: Paul Schaller, Lawrence Schmitt, l.eon ard Granda, Wil- liam Vertalino, and lidward Patton.
