The Hi-y presented Mr. Dresch with a plaque on Monday November 13, 1967, at the 30th annual dinner in honor of our football team and coaches. Mr. Dresch served as advisor for the Hi-y for 30 consecutive years before becoming our principal. Ted Stefanak presented the plaque to Mr. Dresch in tribute to the years he served the organization as advisor. Thanks were also extended to the football coaches by head coach, Mr. William Gargano. 21

Mary Ann Russo is a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. The boys, ranging from left to right, Joseph Butoryak, William Blazius, and Kenneth Konnen, received commendations for their results on the test. Louise Severdia, Jennifer Gotal, Dave Lucas, and William Blazius, were chosen from the first ten per cent of the senior class to participate in an experimental program sponsored by the county. They are taking an advanced course at Penn State which began in September of 1967 and will continue until June of 1968. They will receive 6 hours credit toward their first year of college. The girls are taking English and the boys are taking algebra and geometry. Jennifer Gotal, a senior student, was presented a certificate and pin from the Daughters of the American Revolution commending her citizenship, leadership, service, patriotism, and dependability as a student. It was presented to her by Mr. Louis Morocco, our guidance counselor. 22
