★ ★★★★★★★★ FLAG RAISING On Thursday, September 25, 1941, impressive ceremonies were held at the Farrell Senior High School to mark the official launching of a flag raising program which will be conducted daily as a measure of stirring the patriotism of the student body and gaining increased respect for the flag of our nation. The entire student body gathered on the front lawn of the building to hear the program. The Flag raising and lowering has been conducted each day at eight thirty-five in the morning and at four ’oclock in the afternoon by the Boy Scouts and the bugler under the direction of Thomas Tortorctc. Flags have been placed in every Home Room where the students and the teachers give the pledge of allegiance at the conclusion of the daily ceremonies. In giving the pledge of allegiance, the school is directed by Principal W. R. Anderson. The idea of the daily flag raising program was originated by Superintendent Carroll D. Kearns through the cooperation of the Board of Directors and the members of the faculty. FLAG RAISING PROGRAM Occasion....................................... Superintendent Carroll D.
