OUP. PRINCE UF A PAL t'Where seldom is heard A discouraging word Time out for tea. Mr. lrvin A. Wilson, principal of Farragut for two years, will retire this Iune. He shall never retire from our hearts. We are the freshies at a G. A. A. initia- tion party who enviously watched this dignified freshman principal save himself from Uthe paddle by fearlessly pilfering a senior's S to replace the symbol of our degradation, the large letter F upon his own breast. We are the frightened sophomores, caught playing hookey , who stood before his kindly blue eyes and were let off with a promise, which, in the face of his integrity became a solemn thing. We are the juniors who cheered with him 3 in the bleachers at a basketball game, or were inspired by him on the court to play just a little harder, to win for the Farragut both he and our cheering fellow students so clearly represented. We are the seniors to whom, with a smile, a hearty handshake, and a little benevolent advice he handed the diplomas on our gradua- tion day. There is a part of Mr. Wilson in each one of us, a part of his integrity, a part of his kindliness, a part of his enthusiasm. The sen- ior classes of 1950, in dedicating this Log to Mr. Wilson, wish him all the happiness he has brought to us in his short stay here at Farragut.
