The voice of parents is the voice of Gods, for to their children they are heaven's lieutenants.''HShakespeare. P. T. A. This association grows larger and better every year. Its membership in i937 ex- ceeded one hundred and fifty. Among the many services performed by the P.T.A. were the play This and That and assistance in the Penny Social. Proceeds from these and sales of various kinds were used for Band instruments, uniforms and student aid. At its monthly meetings a variety of pro- grams included talks given by the teachers of the History and Science departments, lec- tures by prominent educators, and movies stressing child development. The many affairs they have sponsored to obtain the money needed for these things were all very successful. Among them were the Penny Social, held in December, the Plunkett Dinner in March and a Concert and Dinner Dance held in Iune. This semester the soloists, Flute and French Horns Ensembles and the Concert Band members are to receive their awards. The officers of the Band Parents Associa- tion are: Pres., Mrs. E. SCROLL STAFF Ads! Ads! Ads! and more ads. This is the cry of the first group. They scurry about for ads and then set them up to the satisfaction of their ad- vertisers. In the second picture it seems as though the reporters are cluttering up the office, so anxious are they to hand in their stories. The department to blame if your paper is late or doesn't arrive at all is the circulation depart- ment, Which counts out the papers and handles their distribution. Those ambitious girls in the fourth picture are looking for mistakes in the proofs of the paper. Blame this department for any hideous spellings you find. Here are those especially popular people who collect your activity fee. Keeping track of where the cash comes from and goes is the job of the bookkeepers. At the typewriters are the smiling secretaries, who type the copy for the printer. Standing are the exchange editors who exchange our papers with other school papers. Down at the bottom we see the Editors in a huddle over the dummies. Theirs is the prob- lem of Where to put which news. This folio of four pages, happy Work Which not e'en critics criticise. Cowper
