THE PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION Not all high schools are as fortunate as Farragut in having a Parent-Teachers' Asso- ciation that is sincerely interested in the welfare of the school. During the past year the Association has had various activities to raise money for band uniformsg namely, the Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale, its annual play, Money Talks, and its Fathers' Night Program at which Judge Bicek of the Juvenile Court was the guest speaker. On March 29, the Chicago High School Spring Conference of Districts 23 and 24 was held at Farragut and over three hundred mothers and fathers attended. The P. T. A. meets the third Thursday of every month inviting the faculty to tea after school, thus providing an opportunity for the parents and teachers to become better acquainted. Quoting J. P. Munro, the P. T. A. has this purpose: It is our business to see to it, therefore, that the atmosphere and the education or educative influences of this vast present-day city of civilization are the very best, the very most efficient, the very most uplifting to boys and girls that it is possible for them to be.
