This was a year of individuals striving to fulfill their dreams through the many opportunities available. It was a year of clunky loafers and colored hose, of glen-plaid pants and soul music. There were history dates to learn, poetry to memorize, and verbs to conjugate. All these things were important because they constituted a way of life which helped us to visualize and to find our dreams. We have dreams of becoming a more complete individual through daily contact with our friends. Striving for higher grades, playing a better game, and Working harder for the school's Welfare are all aroused by our dream of personal achievement. The long hours spent studying and the trips to the library are only two of the ways we as students trans- form our dreams into tangible realities. We must have the inspiration to achieve the goals which we have made for our lives. This enthusiasm takes many forms and can be seen throughout our school. lt can be heard in the cheering and shouting which accompany each football game, and seen in the enthusiastic spirit of winning reflected in the faces of those students at a pep rally. Cheerleaders at work portray enthusiasm in action, whether it be cheering at a game or making posters for the next big event. Group enthusiasm is essential to the welfare of our school. aim E THUSIASM if Kg, - at 10 BUILDS DREAMS 1 Tk x P J There is an individual type of enthusiasm which is just as important as group enthusi- asm, and is directly related to the building and fulfilling of our dreams. Sometimes one has to look harder to see individual enthusi- asm, but fortunately it can be found. The annual staff, striving diligently to publish the yearbook so that the student body may have in words and pictures a memory of one grand year, shows a kind of enthusiasm necessary to succeed in such a difficult, yet rewarding task. It takes enthusiasm to study now so that we will be well equipped to reach our goals in the future. When someone enters a poetry or essay contest, we are seeing an enthusiastic individual. A football or basket- ball player must be zealous to fulfill his dream of personal achievement and victory. To be enthusiastic is to be successful. ff' A STRIVING TCGETHER 12 , ENCOURAGES DREAM 1551 13 Teamwork plays an important part in high school because we are constantly working and playing with other people. This is a time in our lives when we learn to give more of ourselves while striving for a common goal. We learn that nothing can be accom- plished unless we share the responsibilities with others. By striving together we can transform our dreams into realities and at the same time experi- ence the feeling of accomplishment after long and hard work.
