CLASS HISTORY In 1940 thurteen luttle boys and gurls started a steep clumb up the ladder of knowledge Startung at the bottom were the followung youngsters Ray Harley Betty Sue Janeway Bobbue Sue Caun June Loy Barbara Kurby, Jack Weaver Sarah Ellus Juanuta Putts Jerry Hart Jummy Seals Barbara Dennus Nancy Smuth and La Vern Reedy Helpung these students up the furst round were Muss Elsue Lewellyn and Muss Gladys Norton Now on the second round we were uouned by lmogene Pressley from Boyd and Shuelds Smuth from Harruman Muss Thelma Borung and Muss Frances Jenkuns were the boosters to the next round Safe on the thurd round we had Muss Betty Smeltzer and Muss Frances Jenkuns as leaders J T Huskey from Anderson County was the new comer to our class fourth round wuth Muss Jean Hobbs and Muss Aluce Smeltzer as our helpers The addutuon thus year was Mary Hartzog from Carter Steaduly clumbung we reached the fufth round Here we were uouned by Junuor Muller from Snyder Our unstructors were Muss Aluce Smeltzer and Muss Beulah Starkey On the suxth round Mrs Muldred Luttrel and, Mrs Jennue Nance were our teachers Our new members thus year were Sarah Ellus who came back from Halls Shurley Spraker from Eastmont Montebello Colufornua Gorda Mae Crowder from Faurvuew Roane County Tennessee Davud Sellers from Guffun and Fred McFalls from Karns Proudly we marched to the furst round un Junuor Hugh Patsy Marley from Blue Grass Fou t e Wanda Bryant from Boyd and Pat Palmer from Karns came unto our happy throng Muss Leota Bevuns and Mrs Hattue Wutt were our unstructors Muss Paulune Kuser and Mrs Cora Walker welcomed our flock unto the fold for the eughth round Jounung us thus year were Eduth Freeman from Black Mountaun N C Maruon Kelly from Knoxvulle Barbara Hum phrey from Carter ln l949 the greenest of all greens were seen enterung the furst round of hugh school Many from other nearby uunuor hugh schools entered thus year wuth us These were Clyde Floyd from Cedar Bluff Carolyn Ogle Wanda Ashburn and Barbara Hampson from Curruer Louuse Palmer Bull Palmer Nancy Wells Rose Jordan Bob Hubbs Mack Conner all from Blue Grass Buddy Brannum from Chrusten berry and Margaret Hurst from John Sevuer Muss Josephune Dunlap was our sponsor Pullung ourselves up to the tenth round we were sponsored by Muss Ruby Sherrull and Mrs Lulluan Lancaster Norvell Lapsley was the only new member enlusted to our class and we gauned Betty Sue Janeway back from Chrustenberry Gallantly the gugglung Sophomores became sophustucated Junuors wuth the leadershup of Mr R D Burdune and Mr T E Crowder Our happy group was uncreased one by the re uounung of Margaret Hurst from Norrus Struvung wuth all our mught we bound unto our last round The last member to uoun us was Roaul Wrught from Oak Rudge The sponsors for our funal round were Mrs Vurgunua Bluckensderfer and Mr R D Burdune : , , . .
