CHANGE OF COMMAND On June 30, 1977 in Valencia, Spain, the Command of the USS FARRAGUT left the hands of Commander Jeremy Michael Boorda and became the new responsibility of Commander Sanford N. Mock. All hands were present as well as CDR Boorda's wife Bettie. Dignitaries from the city of Valencia and Spanish military officials were guests of the Command. ' A Spanish Military brass band played both the Spanish and American National Anthems, followed by the Invocation, given by LCDR Philip Branan. As in all facets of life, responsibilities are continually changing hands and in the United States Navy the Captain of a warship is the major force behind it's performance. But before a man can take command, he has already proved his abilities. Welcome aboard CDR Mock. Thank you for everything CDR Boorda. tx V V W, 'f .eff-M r 1. N
