1922 -- MIRAGE l 1922 l- Glass ,Sung fAir Fair Harvard , I As the voyager turns with a love-longing gaze To the hills that are fading behind How swift came the thoughts of his earlier days To people the halls of the mind. Fond memory gilds efv'ry summit of blue, With the flush of a sunset of gold, And the vision still lingers when lost to the view, Old ocean holds all in his fold. II And thus as our bark we're unmooring tcday, And hope breathes a. fluttering wind, No joys in the future regret can allay, For those we are leaving behind. All brightly they shine in memory's sheen, As cliffs in the tints of the morn, No pleasures before us more dimless and keen, Than those that shall never return. III But duty calls onward. A sigh for the past, And a cheer for the great gone before! Still upward and onward we'll climb, till at last The laurels are ours which they wore. Here's a hand, brothers all! with the heart as we go, And a friendship we never must stain, And these halls that as boys, we may ne'er again know, Hereafter shall hear of us men.
