June Doris Ann Billy The class officers were elected in October and Ken Hudgins served as our able President this year, Al Johnston was Vice-President, Nan Gilliam, Secretaryg Tommy Clark, Treasurerg and Nadine Dazell, S,C,A. representative. We handed over money for class dues after gentle chiding on the part of Tucker and Mrs, Dahl. We Won the class prize of S25 for magazine campaign sales. Jimbo Whit- lock was high salesman for the third year in a row, The trip committee began work on that WONDERFUL class trip. Homecoming was wonderful with the victory over Blackstone and with Betty .To Cook as our Homecoming Queen. Football sea- son ended, we had the Football Banquet, Thanksgiving holidays came fremember that turkey?Q, and Christmas arrived at L-A-S-T. Sl IIIRS PATRICIA LOUISE IRELAND ERBY ALLYNE JOHNSTON, IR. JAMES RENWICK KENNEDY, JR. Pat Al Renny ln spite of near disasters, the dance band mix-up, and several catastrophies, the Junior-Senior was a slam-bang success. Nan Gilliam, Ann Brierley, Renny Kennedy, and Phillip Cooke represented our school at Girls and Boys States. Doris Ann Ragland was elected president of the Longwood Chapter of the F.H,A, Joyce Orange attended the summer convention of the F,H.A, Our senior year opened with many changes. Mr. Beville came from Crewe to be our principal and brought many suggestions with him. He helped bring Career Day to us. We joined in with several other high schools in December and traveled to Kenbridge for a very delightful day. Our class had now diminished to about 36 hopeful seniors. Gee, the year flew by, long, L-O-N-G term papers were due, measurements for caps and gowns were taken, and the big .Tunior-Senior, and other busy activities descended upon us. Clubs, meetings, more meetings. Finally the exams, graduations and the farewells. We had reached the top of the ladder, but only for a short while. We all had big plans for the future, but no matter where we travel, we always shall remember the friendships we made, the classes we attended, and the great times we had at Farmville High.
