Seniots MELDA FAYE DIXON A good mixture of wit and wisdom is Melda. She keeps us giggling with her original wise cracks . Although small in sta- ture, the place she holds could be filled by no other. She has proved herself a true friend, and always gives those about her plenty of pleasure. If you want anything done, go to Melda, she always greets you with I ' ll try, and what she does is done well. Real common sense is one of her strong points, too . She is steady, persistent, conscientious, loyal, and friendly . We anticipate for her great success as a librarian. ALICE JEAN ALLEN Jean, Une petite brunette has a certain faculty which is prized more than gold, yea much gold, that of being able to think and reason. She is careful in making decisions, forming opinions, and sticking to what she believes to be right. Jean seldom answers unless she is called on; but when she begins, why, you think she is wound up . As co-editor of News ' N ' Views , Jean has been true to her promise to last year ' s sponsor in that she has been diligent in helping to maintain the award- winning status of our school paper. Hail our editor-in-chief! She is right there with the correct answer. Quiet, demure, studious, ambitious, but as the old adage goes, Still water runs deep. Someday Jean ' s friends expect to see her do remarkable things. We wonder whether it will be president of a large concern or the wife of the president. WALTER REX HODGES, JR. Rex is full of fun and often puts it before other things. His motto may be Pleasure before business ; however, he always takes part in the class affairs. In spite of his fun loving nature. Rex is a very important member of our class. In everything he is always there. On the gridiron Rex fought for every inch of ground and helped put it over more than one time this year. We admire his fighting spirit, which shows only a part of how much he is willing to do. As a drummer, he is great. An all-round fellow — from athletics to music, inclusive —that ' s Rex. His sportsmanship, good fellowship, and Rex -ship have won for him a place in the hearts of his classmates.

Seniots SARA WYNNE DONAT Those big brown eyes and that winning smile weren ' tgiven Sally for nothing. It ' shard to know where to start in enumerating her good qualities. She ' s s i n c e r e , consci- entious, dependable , studious, and withal, full of fun. Versatile is the only word applicable to her ac- complishments. Three cheers for our basketball star! Sally ' s efforts as co-editor of the News ' N ' Views this year have been untiring. She has burned the midnight oil to help make it a success, and we see the fruits of her labors. Truly, her high ideals, strong Christian character, determination, and keen interest bespeak a noble success . JOHN ROBERT OWENS, JR. Will the meeting please come to order? Behold the president of the Student Government Association and the president of the senior class. Was there ever a president as good as John? Never! He has been president of his class for three successive years. When it comes to presiding, he ' s as good as J.F.K. himself. The position of responsibility, trust, and honor, which he has held, is sufficient to show his ability and real worth. Q u i e t, dignified, trustworthy, courteous, and pleasant to all, are words that may best describe John. No one will dispute the fact that he is one of the best known and most popular students in Farmville FRANCES SUE DUKE Pep, fun, a jolly good time — that ' s F rankle. She leads our cheers. Whenever there is a game, Frankie is right there yelling. She has the enthusiasm that we all desire and the ability to put her whole soul into every- thing she undertakes. Frankie is a professional gloom chaser. Her congeniality and amiable disposition make her welcome wherever she goes. Her good nature and lively disposition are like a daily tonic for those around. She takes from every minute sixty seconds of happy living. We know that with her liveliness and love for a good time Frankie will get much out of life .
