lass :story The Year l945 is marked as an important year in the lives of the gradu tes of 1947 For that year we entered Farmington Community High School for the first time Our first class meeting consisted of electing the following class Dick Franklin Vice President, Roger Hughbanks and Sec officers President retary Treasurer, Kay Our most memorable to this occasion with memories In September 1944 the halls of F C H Settles exoerlence that year was Initiation We looked forward horror but now as we look back it is one of our fondest approximately ninety important looking sonhomores entered S once again Bob Farmer was elected class President Wally Sutton, Vice President and Gary Turl, Secretary Treasurer at an early class meeting In the early fall our class sponsored a masquerade dance This fir t attempt at making money socially was a huge success On August 50, 1945, the class which was now unper classmen met for the first time For class officers this year we elected President Delmer Rench Vice President, Dick Negley and Secretary Treasurer, Doris Nagner This year oroved to be a very busy one for the eighty some juniors Most of the football and basketball season wa spent selling nop and hot dogs Although it was hard work, it brought our bank balance uo considerable Another big undertaking that year was the Homecoming Dance which turned out During the month of November the jun'ors were as busy as bees etting ready for the Junior Play On November 15 and 17 'Moonlight For Herbert a howling comedy, was oresented Although we had worked hard we were rewarded by the many favorable comments Then the night came that we had all been working and waiting for the Junior Senior Prom The gym, decorated with the 'Global Theme was beautiful with the blue and white creoe oaoer enclosing it The whole atmosphere was delightful The sophomores, dressed in global costumes did 81 excellent job of serving The evening oroved to be a very enjoyable one for all Before we knew it, the year 1946 arrived and we were back in school as sen iors We had all looked forward to this ye r ttth great anticipation In our first class meeting to elect officers, Charlotte Scott, Paul Turner and Jill Holliday were chosen as President Vice President, and Secretary Treasurer We had our first chance this year to show our initiative at Hinltiation The theme was 'A Circus and all that day tne whole school was a circus Our greatest achievement in the fall of l946 was winning 2cd place on our float uThe Seventh Cross' in the homecoming parade The Senior Play this year was, 'The High School Mystery ' As seniors we had the honor of oeing entertained bv both the juniors and the alumni Both did all they could to leave us with hapoy memories of our year rinally the day we had dreamed of, arrived aps and gowns we realized that most of our hapoy years were connected with school and school activities As we leave we seniors know that 'With the ropes the bells of the future I4 we donned our silver memories of the oast of the o st we will 188C grey four ring I 2 1 I ' I ' I P '- D l l ' 1 u n s Q n P I ..
