The class of 1957 came to Farrnlngton Hlgh as eager and enthuslastxc freshmen Much of thxs sp1r1t was shown xn thelr presentatlon that year of the orxgmal Sock Hop The Sadie Hawkms Dance h1ghl1ghted the sophomore year The dance was glrl bld and fake rnarnage servlces added to the fun In thelr Junlor year the class of 57 present cd the f1fth annual Home-cornmg Dance ln Octo ber Enthus1ast1c plans were begun IH December 1955 for the J Hop and on January Z8 the class presented the 'Mldmght Mlrage wlth muslc supplled by Johnny Txtus and h1s band The class of '57 staged and presented a suc Qessful 3 act comedy Mother Was a Freshman, 1n Aprll to round out themr thlrd year To bcgm a very busy sen1or year the class On November 9 and 10 they presented the senxor play We Shook the Famlly Tree ' '1 3 act comedy The Semors partlclpated ID the Student Government Day Program, electlng students to 1mportant posltlons ln Farmlngton Clty Govern ment These senxors spent an lnterestlng day runnmg the clty and learnlng government through practlcal expenence They presented thelr long awalted Sc nxor Prom on May 12 Don Pablo and hls orchestra prov1dcd the rnusxc As a fmal b1g event the senlors took a fxve day trlp to New York Two of the hlghllghts of thls trlp were an evcmng at the Copacabana and a yacht cruse around Manhattan Island Graduatmn was he ld June 13 1957 ' ' ll ll ,, . . . . . . . , - I ' ' ' ll ' ' i - , ll V A I A ' presented the sixth annual Homecoming Dance.
