A. is the national organization for boys studying vocational agriculture, It is an integral part of the program of vocational ed- ucation. The Future Farmers of America was organized in November, 1928, and since that time it has served to motivate and vitalize the systematic instruction offered to students of vocational agriculture, Members of the F, F, A, learn through active participation in public speakingg solv- ing their own problemsg working togetherg conducting meetings using parliamentary pro- cedureg financing themselvesg and assuming civic responsibilities, The Future Farmers of America is a non-profit non-political farm youth organization of voluntary membership, There are no secrets in connection with the F, F. A. The Future Farmers of America exists today because farm boys desire such an organization so that they might be able to acquire business experience and enjoy the fellowship of boys of their own age. Q if .I 'F -L -gm Good Luck To The Class Of '52 The Farmington Chapter of the Fut- ure Homemakers of America was organ- ized on September 23, 1951, under the direction of Elaine Vassar, Homemaking teacher, Patricia Grossman was elected President, Marge Swan, Vice-President, Carol Fine, Secretary, L.ois'l-Ianan, Treasurer, Kay Anderson, Historiang Eunice Cazey, Parliamentariang Kay Smith, Reporter, Mrs, Floyd Anderson was chosen as The Chapter Mother, The FHA is a national organization having the rose for their flower and red and white for their colors, The eight purposes are: 1, To promote a growing apprec- ciation of the joys and satis- faction of homemaking, 2, To emphasize the importance of worthy home membership, 3. To encourage democracy in home and community life, 4, To work for good home and com- munity life, 5, To promote international good will, 6, To foster the development of creative leadership in home and community life, 7, To provide wholesome individual and group recreation, 8, To further interest in home economics, The emblem of our organization is a house supported by two hands symbol- izing the homes of tomorrow are in the hands of our youth, In order to become a member of the Future I-Iomemakers of America, a girl must either be enrolled in a Homemaking course or have taken Homemaking.
