HISTORY Twelve years ago, forty mischievous youngsters entered the first grade under the direction of Miss Pierson for the first half year, and Miss Alexander for the remainder of the year. As we progressed through primary and grammar grades, we lost several members of our class. When we entered the ninth grade, we had thirty five nbrightn stu- dents who were just starting over fool's hill, as one of our teacher's often told us. Miss Henderson, our home room teacher, helped us over our rough spots, which seemed impossible to us. We took an active part in all the clubs and activities, as we continued through high school. After the first year of high school, everything seemed easier to UB. We had quite a time keeping home room teachers for that year. We had three, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. O'Brien and finally Miss McBrayer. We had Miss Ayers as our eleventh grade sponsor, and we had to work hard to finance the Junior-Senior Banquet, which was held at the Vance Hotel, in Statesville. Under her direction, we also gave a Junior Class Play. Now, we are Seniors, with Miss Ayers again as our home room teacher. We find it hard to realize that we have about come to the end of our high school journey. The high lights of this year was the day we received our rings, the day we ordered our caps and gowns, invi- tations, diplomas, and gave our Senior play. Somewhere along the line, we lost thirteen of our members, so there are only eighteen in the graduating class. With sad faces and many fond memories, we say good-by to dear old F. H. S. We hope that the coming Seniors have as much fun and happiness in school as we have had. ls R992 - 5 'iliftfii 7'6'fk xl ,.tA I 'gap .Eigwy 1551.4 va' ' 1 J 1i5Ei ,- - 'lf' i
