- -W .19-2.4. NYSSA Wg Football Games NEW YORK AGGIES VS. MITCHEL FIELD The Aggies played the first game of the season with the Mitchel Field Aviators, finishing on the short end of a 7-O score. A hard struggle was put up by the green-jerseyed lads but due to just this greenness the game was Zost. The team as a Whole displayed a fine brand of fighting football, with Captain Jack Pollet, the only veteran on the team, as the backbone of the Aggie defense. Were, O'Shaughnessey and McNeil also deserve mention for their aggresive and untiring efforts to make the game a win. Our Fresh- man backfield played a fine game and in the future we hope to see that extra punch that scores. . ' NEW YORK AGGIES VS. WEBB INSTITUTE The second game of the season was looked forward to with a great deal of interest, for the student body could not but admire the pluck and spirit that the team had put forth against the Aviators. made up as it was of practically all Freshmen. Although the game was lost. the Aggies did not disappoint their followers, putting up a battle that was only overcome by the greater experience of the opponents. It was also demonstrated that the Aggies were capable of working the aireal game. Through this a rally was staged in the second half, starting with a forward pass from Pollet to Borer, and then an end run by Borer bringing the ball to within l5 yards of the Webb goal. On the next play, Pollet came through with a crashing line plunge. Wfith but live yards to go the XYebb defense stiffened and the Aggies were unable to make the goal. Borer. O'Shaughnessy. XYere and McNeil played a line game with l'ollet once more the mainstay of the team. The game ended with the score 20-O. .- -- s .-S 'Ms ., .- -,... a+.--.+ia.....-..........l......t.:...-,:g:Lf 2g1LLg..:i.1.'::?, L-Tlilli. ..':'Z:fXf:.,..,lv.- - ...- - , Qlit. ji l77l ..s..,a..W......ag1.Qs3s,rf',.-3z.t.Qgaggceggisaggggiggggggi ..
