' --rr tseasi Freshmen l-listorq The farmer's life for mefn' With this thought strongly imbedded in our minds We gazed with awe and wonder for the hrst time across the campus of the school. It was, indeed, a strange and delightful sight to us city boys, a good many of whom had never as much as seen a live pig. Four and twenty strong came We, from all parts of the continent-from far-off Canada to sunny Mexico. Four and twenty different shapes, sizes, lengths, breadths, soon moulded into four and twenty real Aggies. It is with deepest regret that we must say that there are no female students in our class. Being Freshmen, we are used to disappointments. The Class of '26 looks back on thepast year with a great deal of satisfac- tion. Of our athletic prestige we are especially proud. Ten of our yearlings made the football squad. They were O'Shaughnessy, Dowd, Hopf, MacNeill, Wehle, Wickers, Kriska, Weinberg, Smeltzer and Garcia. While none have made the Varsity basketball squad, we have, nevertheless, started a Fresh- man team, which has been a great attraction to Varsity games, and its potentialities speak well for Nyssa's future Varsity team. And now with a mingled feeling of dismay, surprise, and humiliation, we think back with a smile, to the initiations. So well was it inflicted, that for all times to come shall we remember our Alma Mater through it. Per- haps the less said about it the better. We have learned how sticky molasses can be, and how greasy pigs can be. Some of us are still looking for our shoes. We shall enjoy initiations much better next year when we are the inflictors rather than the recipients. We elected our class officers as follows: O'Shaughnessy, president: Dowd, vice-president, Hatter, secretary, and Meyers, treasurer. Under their able leadership we acquired the true Aggie spirit at an early date, and supported our upper classmen most loyally. To the Class of '24 it is with the deepest regret that we must say fare- well. To us poor, lowly Freshmen, you shall always stand as a model of a true, snappy Aggie class. We will be glad to hear from you about your successes in the future. We hope it shall be au revoir rather than adieu.', Goodbye and good luck, and may God be with you.
