Second place went to Winona Gates, who played a piano solo, and third place was won by Joy Van Adkins and Gayle Thurston, who pre- sented enjoyable pantomimes. They are, left to right: W. Gates, C. WTIMS W f 22Hm 4 Half-Time Performances The band and pep squad worked every Thursday after- noon to be able to perform their best on the gridiron the following night. They are to be commended for such fine work all through the season. The final performance after week-long toil is one of perfection. Here the majorettes get it off to a gala start with a spectacular and unusual flag-twirl. Pep Rally Pep Rally An outdoor pep rally was given for the Farmers as they boarded a chartered bus to go to Coushatta. The entire school turned out to send them off with rousing cheers in hopes of victory. The FHS cheerleaders show the spirit of all the stu- dents at the pep rally preceding the last game of the season with Winnfield while the band plays Saints.

All the teachers of Union Parish attended a banquet given for them this year by Farmer ville High School. This is an annual affair and is sponsored by a different school each year. twat, yt UPTA Banquet This group of girls served the teachers and seemed to have a grand time doing so. They are fl to rj Brenda Anderson, Judy Greer, Imogene Compton, Christene Hol- loway, Jean Lamprich, Carolyn Glass, Linda Black, and Gay Mitchell. Mr. I. B. Robertson, Assistant Superintend- ent of Elementary and Secondary Education, was the principal speaker at the banquet. His speech concerned teacher welfare laws.
