CLASS HISTORY The long journey for the Class of 1967 began on a bright September day in 1956. Mrs. McNel1y and Mrs. Osborn were there to greet the smiling faces of the fifty new first graders who were entering the doors ofFarmersvi11e School for the first time. Eighteen of these fifty have completed the entire journey to its end. They are: Glenn Izor, Allyn Ummel, Glen Bowman, Connie House, Doug Ulrich, Jim Moses, Carol Shell, Rich Friend, Billie Erisman, Julia Ferguson, Jim Sholly, Rick Eby, Faye Dale, Beverley Sturgill, Sue Stump, Joan Zechar, Keith Coffman, and John Spacht. During our first year we took a trip to the Swinging Bridge Farm for a picnic. Finally our first year of school was over and we found ourselves entering the second grade with Mrs. Code flater replaced by Mrs. Linderj and Miss Husak awaiting us. Some of the highlights of this year were a trip to the Miamisburg Mound, the Miamisburg Fire Department, the Cincinnati Zoo and the Cincinnati Conservatory. Our third grade teachers were Mrs. Oldfather and Mrs. Dillon. During this year we were enlightened by the new faces of Mike Moyer and Charlie Burris. In the fourth grade we found Mrs. Jacobs and Mrs. Arnold's smiling faces. The main event of this year was a trip to the,Museum of Natural History. We also took part in the A1l Star Game which was the first chance our class had to show its talent. We also put on a play, for the PTA. Connie Brubaker entered our class this year as well as a hula-hoop rage which everyone took part in. The next year we found ourselves in the fifth grade with Mr. Webb and Mrs. Jacobs as our leaders. We took a trip to the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and the Museum of Natural History. Gary Hager joined us this year. After completing our first five years with great success we entered the sixth grad . Mr. Webb and Mr. Montgomery were our teachers. We went to the Auldwood Audub n Center and the Englewood Dam. Betty Boyer, Paul Rehmert, and Richard Lacy, and Tim Alspaugh joined our spirited class. Finally we were ready for the big step up, for we had made it into the seventh grade. Along with it we found the wonders of the top floor and changing classes. We had many new teachers this year which made things very interesting. Mrs. Ledford and her southern accent and Mrs. Gilbert, who was always there to lend a helping hand ar two of the teachers that bring back many fond, happy memories. But this year was a o a time of sorrow, for we lost a devoted teacher and friend, Mrs. Shaffer. But then M s. Nan came to take her place and never again did the class see a dull moment. This year we had a talent show. Dennis Hodson, John Nichols, and Jean Gingerich joined us. The eighth grade was similar to our previous year. -Mrs. Albrecht came to teach Science. Our Freshmen year started off with a bang. We were initiated into high school by the Sophomores and needless to say, we really got a working over. We also won Scho 1 Spirit Week which was an honor, especially since we were the youngest class particip t- ing. Another trip was made to the Museum and Triangle Park where we made a study on leaves for Biology. Joyce Payne and Sherry Smith, joined us this year. The Sophomore year didn't prove to be too exciting, unless you consider losing-a wrap-around skirt while on the playground, exciting! Some of us took a trip to the campaign headquarters of the presidential candidates while others visited the Planetari- um at the Museum.
