CLASS SO G Now is the time, when we must say good by Soon we' ll be leaving dear old Farmer High We leave to you our dreams of yesterday Farewell dear friends because the time draws nigh Time is now gone who knows what lies ahead'7 We hate to leave you, w1th the utmost dread Learn while you can for you' ll be leaving soon Good by dear friends we hope to meet again Tune Now is the Hour Song Writer Ronnie Jenkins CLASS HI TORY In September, 1950 the class of 1954 entered high school We were far from knowing the ropes of high school, but we were soon to learn We elected as our class officers J B Stutts President Hugh Brabham, Vice President Nancy Carol Crowell Treasurer Doris Kern Secretary It was mostly work during our freshman year with a few parties to top our achieve ments Mr Barr1er was our homeroom teacher We began classes as sophomores with hopes of soon moving into our new high school build mg Mr Causey was our teacher and adviser After a few weeks of school we moved into the new classrooms with h1gh excitement They were modern and well planned for our convenience Our class off1cerswereJ B Stutts President Pat Adams Vice President Nancy Carol Crowell Secretary Harold Gunter Treasurer We began plans for the new flag pole which was completed of our time was taken up with work Classes began in the Junior year with Mrs Welborne as our homeroom teacher We elect ed as our class officers Pat Adams Presldent Nancy Jean Kearns Vice President Caroline Hussey Secretary Harold Gunter, Treasurer We began to plan early for the annual Junior Senior Banquet After much planning and work our banquet was prepared It was held at the V F W Hall on April 3 1953 Most of us w1ll never forget that night and the fun we had Another high point in the Junior year was receiving our class rings As a part of graduation the Juniors carried the daisy chain for Class Night We also sang our Junior song to the Seniors We were sorry to see the Seniors leave but we were willing to ta.ke over their classroom for our own The making of our annual became our first oblective Many hours of hard work were spent in preparing it We sponsoreda turkey supper before Thanksgiving to make money for our annual and trip to Washington The supper was a big success in every way One of our main projects during our senior year was the buying of new stage Curtains With the help of parents and merchants we were able to buy them While we carried out these activities we planned our trip to Washington on May 3 With enough money and careful plans we expected to see our Capitol and the places of interest around it And so l1fe goes on 12 happy years of school at Farmer We hope to be an asset to our school after we graduate We are looking forward to happy days and pleasant memories of our school activities at Farmer High School Patrick Adam s Historian 3 5 , . 9 , . 1 II ' IV , . . : . . , Q - 3 1 Q y .
