Team Totals Of 8-0, 4-3 Impressive In Volleyball The South High girls volley- ball team finished the.1977-78 season with an impressive record. The varsitylessqliiad ended their year with an unde- feated record. Tri-captains for the varsity team were seniors Ana Marie Dias, Cindy Pugh and Carla Wetjen. Of the total eight games played by the varsity squad five of them were played with Fargo. North. The iunior varsity, ppta eipye , .ended with a the year. f T games were also eyva 7 7 7 against North High'steam. Co-captains for the junior varsity squad included jenny Konrad and Debbie Yeager. A large number of girls star- ted out the season. Various conflicts and an erraticipractice schedule narrowedggdqyvngjthe .number of girls ned to the last C Two rigorous weeilisfwere spent on conditioning followed by four weeks of regular practice before their first game. Coach Debbie Noyes seemed to feel it paid off . Head coach Noyes was assistant volleyball coach at Concordia. She was by Cindy Hoveland experienced player cordia. This was Cindy's second year assistant coaching for South's team. Noyes felt, lt was a really good year. Varsity volleyball players for the 1977-78 season included, Bottom: J. Cordahl, D. Seeb, K.
