'Nu -egg ' A ,,,,..,....-- L -6 ,. Sophomores Lack Heightp Freshmen Promising The sophomore basketball team was coached under first year Dick Walvatne. This year's team didn't fair too well with a record of 6-12 to end the season. Approximately 17 sophomores made up the team. jon Tomhave was voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates. Chris Rudrud re- ceived the Hustle award. jeff Haug was Most Improved. Walvatne hopes to coach again next year. Tomhave led ail sophomores in scoring with 256 points, averaging 14 points a game. Rudrud was second highest scorer with 189 points, averaging a 10 point game. Haug was third scorer but leader in total rebounds with 116, 6.4 a game. Sophomore Ken Sanford was moved up to play jV this year, so the sophs were minus the height for rebounding and inside work which he con- tributed so much as a frosh. Returning coach Rich Lind- strom guided his frosh team to a won-loss record of 13-6. They finished third in the Inter- City Championship. Pat Norman was elected Most Valuable Player by the team. Hustle award was given to Eric Aleckson while Most lm- proved Player was received by newcomer Tom Flannery. This year's team has the potential to be state champs, commented Coach Lindstrom.
