fl 1 3 john Green l9J blocks a Jamestown player as Al Schafer U53 moves in and scores. seventy-six IV Hockey Stands12-5-25 Al Schafer Top Scorer Coached under Myron Wag- ner, the IV hockey team ended their season with an impressive 12-5-2 record The purpose of B-Squad hockey isto develop future varsity players by pro- viding game experience. Wagner saw a lot of improve- ment throughout the course of the year and was glad to see four jV players elevated to the varsity level during the ex- tent ofthe season. Sophomore Al Schafer lead the team in scoring. Most improved play- ers went to frosh john Green, jay Lakoduk, Matt Magness and Terry Pavek, The jV'ers split with cross town rival North this season with a dominating 5-0 win the first time and a close 0:2 loss the second time. Gther big wins were over Grafton 7-3 and 6-0, Moorhead 3-2 and 3-0. Al- though they suffered disap- pointing losses to both Grand Forks teams. South's freshman hockey team completed a dis- appointing season while compiling a record of 5-11-1 . The baby Bruins were under the direction of first year coach Paul Cutler, a student at Concordia. Highlighting the season was the split with North, they each won two games. Many. of the C-squaders played in junior varsity competition.
