New Equipment Received by '78 Voc Ed Classes The auto shop acquired two new vehicles: a Chevy pickup and Camaro, which had been caught in a flood. A new cleaner, which used glass beads to clean, was also added. A new printer was installed in the drafting room. It was considerably more versatile than the previous one in that it made prints from initial drafts. Wood shop's jointer, used for aligning- board edges, was replaced with a newer model. The electronics shop receiv- ed some new pieces of equip- ment designed for testing. 5 Putting the finishing touches on a lathe project is second year woodworking student Scott Fritz. Compugraphic Comes of Age In Graphic Arts A major change took place in the printing program this year with the purchase of a Compu- graphic IV. Along with this change several platen presses plus most of the old hot-type was sold in order to make room for the printing equipment. Another change for the graphics area included re- modeling. Hanson's Building Trades class constructed a small room in the graphics room where all the composition equipment was stationed. This provided for a new teaching station in the graphic arts. The last of an art is used on a limited basis in graphic arts, that of hand set type as shown herei ln the small engines classroom numerous projects take place. Here a small cycle. Projects in small engines classes range from work on junior jason Nordhougen and senior Kris Condon do repair work on snomobiles to lawnmowers to outboard engines of various sizes. fifty
