Commercial Art, ewelry Course Additions to Art New classes have been added to the Art Department A semester course on jewelry to fami iarize students with jewe ry techniques was offered to Crafts 3 classes This class was taught by Al Hanson and included repair of jewelry, cost of materials, appreciation of design and material concerning the history of making jewelry Commercial Art was the ad dition to the department This class teaches different styles of selling an idea or a service This acquaints a student with another vocational possibility 2 ---,C K . Morning Ph Ed Continues, New Chairman Added South's Physical Education Department changed some this year with the switching of department head to Candice Pendergast who is the first fe- male chairperson. Sue Hann replaced jan Cossette during first semester and served as girls basketball coach. Also changing this year was the switching of sixth hour re- source center to tenth period. Early morning gym remain- ed a popular subject. A few of the sports areas have been golf, bowling, fencing, tennis and cross country skiing. Spotting on the trampoline goes with the fun of the workout on the gym apparatus.
