-S ,l The Pom Pon Girls attempted to have a new routine ready for each home game during the football season and basketball season. school year. The girls were judged by their performance of a routine taught to them by the seniors who would graduate at the end of the year. To raise money needed for new uniforms the squad employed various methods. During the summer they sponsored a car wash. They also had bake sales in the commons and sold Bruin cushions at games and Bruin Booster functions. Nancy Boatman, Lori Rusch and Sue Lewis serve coffee for the parents during the fall PTSA sponsored Back-to-School night. Pom Pon, Pep Club Promote Bruin Spirit, Raise Activit Funds South High's pom pon girls promoted school spirit by performing routines at home game half-times as well as attending away games. Following an Oriental Homecoming theme, the pom pon girls were outfitted in karate uniforms. Rain spoiled a ga-me performance but the squad had appeared earlier that day at the pep fest.
