The girls were judged by their performance of a routine taught to them by the seniors who would graduate at the end of the year. To raise money needed for new uniforms the squad employed various methods. During the summer they sponsored a car wash. They also had bake sales in the commons and sold Bruin cushions at games and Bruin Booster functions.
