Krieg is a standout athlete in two sports: basketball and track. Frosh,j Girls B-Ball Teams Improve During Year I don't feel that our record of C2-12l gives justice to what the team actually accomplished, stated Deb Saxe, coach of the girls junior var- sity basketball team. We improved im- mensely from the first day of practice and have come a long way, she commented, Even though we had a losing season I was s still proud of the team. Their attitudes were excellent and even when they weren't winning, the team always continued to work hard. Ann Devlin and Lynn Harty, both juniors, served as co-captains for the 1976 junior varsity season. Freshmen girls basketball coach, Mardy Dosland, felt, Our season record CO-8l leaves a lot to be desired, and does not truthfully tell this team's ability and over all season. We went from a losing record in the previous year to a 13-11 season, the best in years, he continued. On a few of the strong aspects of his team, he pointed out their pressing defense, overall attitude and hustle. We also outscored almost all our opponents in the fourth quarter of each game. This he attributed to good conditioning. Height was the predomi- nant weak point, as in past years. A highlight of the season was the winning of the third place in the Southeast Region. The Bruins were only beaten twice during their season play by Jamestown, North and GF Central, all of which placed in the top four in state. Ron Herring ninety-six
