Special Courses Grow at South Personalized Education, under Don Smaltz, had 42 students enrolled in the growing program. Instructors for the courses were Melinda Dicola, Gordon Hegre, Don Smaltz, Priscilla Strutz, Pam Swanson and Gloria Thompson. Jet, run by Roger Olgaard, gave seniors the opportunity to see if they would enjoy being a teacher. There are 15 students from South involved in the local program. The students teach 1-12 graders. They get V2 credit for the course. The school had 20 students now directly involved in the Fargo- Moorhead Community Service Pro- gram. Students do a large variety of volunteer work. Some help in the elementary schools as tutors while others do volunteer work in the area hospitals and elderly homes. Qualified students earn from V2 to one full credit .per year. 4 W.. I7 if X 4.
