Kana, L, Malm, D. kcrlund Under the direction of Mr. Gene Okerlund, South High's choral department consisted of several musical groups: freshmen chorus, girls chorus, concert choir, pops choir, madrigals, a trio and a tri- ple trio. Activities for the year included No, No, Nanette , All- Millar, S. Braaten, P. Magness, T. Kankel- fritz, K. Maasjo, S. Learned, S. Smith, S. Cummings. Row 3: K. Hanson, A. Thorstad, A Krieg, D, Rasmussen, D. Dockter, L. Hick- man, L. Engan, K. Aaker, T. Stockman, D. Holland. Row 4: S. Gowin, D. Hagel, C. Pugh, W. Czichotzki, T. Zimmerman, K. Wester- holm, D. Towne, C. Wetjen and S. Lindgren. cads Seven Groups State, the Acro Show, a senior trip to Chicago in May and a trip to Bemidji for an evening in the Medieval Ages with the University of Bemidji's Madrigal Singers. Senior Kari Jo Stokka was the only one to make it to All-State Choir. The choir gave about four con- certs but some of the groups sang at other functions including Len- ton Services, the Wang Benefit and on the show Party Line . Next year the choral department will again have a change. Mr. Okerlund, who has been the choral director for two years, is leaving. South High's Pops Choir, led by Gene show put on by the Acro Team on April 10. both an afternoon and evening performance.
