Schcvcck Becomes Coordinator The Industrial Education De- partment introduced a Trades and Industrial Coordinator to South. Ed Scheveck filled the new post which was developed to serve both North and South. The idea was to give trade students the chance to gain employment with a company in a related field. Scheveck said it would Hhelp students to better themselvesl' and also present them an opportunity toifind how the real work-a-day world works. Prescriptive Drawing was a new first semester class offered to upperclassmen. Instructor John Torgerson described it as a con- densed General Drafting class . Students who took Architectural Drafting 2 designed and construct- ed a yearly model house project. Glenn Anderson David Aasness Darrell Dettmann Arliss Fedje Leonard Hanson Rodney Harris Vehicle M6Cl1al'1iCS General Wood Auto Mechanics Machine Shop Building Trades General Auto Electronics dds New Teacher A new instructor joined the South faculty at the beginning of the 1976 school year. Gregory Hagen replaced David Givens, who retired last year as electronics instructor. Hagen was at one time a student teacher under Givens. The mechanics classes had a new approach this year. The course was divided into four sec- tions and the students moved from one to another. The four sections included brakes and transmission, engines, electrical and tuning. Construction was the key word in the building trades area. Some of these projects were a floor plan, several different types of model roofs, portable ice houses, model houses, and a two-bedroom house.
