School Board rcssurcs English There has been a great deal of pressure from the school board on the English Department and other departments to set up a priority list, observed department head Dellis Schrock. Due to the bud- get, certain not-so-basic courses would have to be dropped. This is determined by the numbers, for the most part. Some have already been discontinued, such as oral interpretation, debate and speech two and three. It's sad in a way. Four new teachers were added to the English Department's teach- ing staff for 1976-77. They were Rich Gjervold, Roger Hoffman and Nancy Jordheim, along with Jim Coomber, a professor at Concordia College who taught sophomore English part-time at South as an experiment. Schrock claimed that he fCoomberD really liked South High a lot, as a part timer. Creative Dramatics Week featured Dr. Reid Dr, Gilbert taught both the drama classes and are 5- Schenatzki, S.
