JV, Freshmen Hockey Teams port Winning Records Coached under Mr. Frank Schaffer, the JV hockey squad ended their season with an 8-1 win over Devils Lake. Compiling a record of 11-5-1, the H JV icers showed im- 3 pressive wins over V My Grand Forks Central, it E 1 W North and Crookston. Hawkinson also saw varsity action. Ending their season with a winning record K7-6-ll the C squad team under Mr. Bob Johnson was victorious over rival North High in two meetings. The C team defeated the Spartans 3-2 in their first meeting, 5-3 in their second and tied North 4-4 in their final meeting of the season. They were also victorious over Grand Forks Central 3-2, but they ended the season with a narrow loss to the Grand Forks Red River Roughriders 6-5. It was Johnson's second year. one hundred seven

Undefeated Stensgard amed Most Valuable South Wrestler Capturing first in the EDC and region, the Bruin varsity wrestling squad under Coach Jerry Larson put out a good effort at the State Meet but managed to place only fifth with 74 points. Mandan ran away with the title with a total of 1951!2 points. I was pleased with the effort everyone put out, commented Larson. We had a very suc- Jem' I-afson cessful season capturing the EDC and re- gion and finishing fifth place at statef, Capturing first in the State Meet was 145 pounder Gregg Stensgard. Finishing fourth at 112 pounds was Robin Johnson while Tim Jones and Kris Condon placed fifth. During the season there were 11 records broken with seven of them going to Stensgard. Dick Potter shattered the record for season takedowns by bringing his opponents down 84 times.
