ophs Have 13 -5 Record, Freshmen in Inter-City This year the Sophs were coached by a new coach, Mark Gibbons. After a poor start they were able to get a 13-5 record at the end of the sea- son. Steve Bartholo- may received the Most Valuable Player and Darryl Infeld received Most Improved Award. The Frosh were coached by Rich Lind- strom and had a final record of 12-9. They also won the Inter-City Championship. At the beginning of the season they had a 4-0 record. After Christmas a few problems developed, but these didn't keep them from taking the trophy. A change this year was having only one Freshman team instead of two teams. This year's team consisted of 18 players, two of whom were named by the members of the team to receive the Most Valuable and the Hustle awards. Ken Sanford was given the Most Valuable Player and Tom Jahner won the Hustle. W A Richard Lindstrom one hundred Members of the Sophomore basketball team are, Row 1: B. Schafer, J. We , started out the season really great, but we seemed to slack off by the end, comment- ed Coach Laney. We lost four out of our last five games playedf' Laney, who came from Agassiz described his the season as fantastic . I like the kids, it was really fun working with the team. The highlight of the season for Laney was beating Moorhead in overtime on the Bruin home court. It's fun to beat Moorhead, chuckled Laney. Strong points of the team were good shooting and a good attitude. Lack of height inside was their weakest point.
