University of Wisconsiii The year 1952 brings to a close the successful professional career of B. C. B. Tighe. As principal of Fargo High School he has performed his duties with such a dignity and knowledge that he has gained the admiration and respect of all those who are and have been associated with him. Mr. T1ghe's 39 years of faithful service in his present position is a record unsurpassed. Under his leadership our school has attained the high standards which have been admired and recognized throughout the state. Our Pl'1IlC1P2llq5 name is known in many circles. for his contributions have been not only to the school but also to many local. state. and national organizations. Among these are the North Dakota High School Principals' Association. North Dakota Education Association. North Dakota High School Athletic League. National Athletic Scholarship Society. and National Education Association. He was outstanding in these. serving as president of the first four and first vicefpresident of the last. Mr. Tiglie's high ideals of sportsmanship and fair play have been an inspiring beacon for the students to follow. Through his initiative the Sportsmanship Club and the National Athletic Scholarship Society were originated in Fargo High. and the Quill and Scroll and the National Honor Society were introduced. The words our principal has spoken have influenced the lives of many. and no banquet or school activity has lieen complete without him. Because of his unfailing interests. able guidance. and ready service. we. the staff of the 1952 Cynosure Annual. proudly dedicate our book to Benjamin C. B, Tighe.
