Jeff Lunn broke Steve Allierro ' s 1970 record of 15 goals by scoring 4 gools in rhe second half of rhe game In first round rournomenr play, Falmouth defeored At- tleboro FI 5 2-0 in overtime They beor Xovenon 1-0 in rhe quarter finds. The bubble burst os rhe reom lost to a rough Braintree squad in rhe semi-finols. A new coach brought wirh him a feeling of pride which he installed in rhe players. Summer camp was highly success- full, The talent was there The coaching was there, Gus Giardi was feared, respected, and liked by oil his men The season srorred with a disoppoinring loss, bur rhe reom bounced bock and bear Bourne, tied Gr N D voke, and killed Foirhaven They then hit rhe skids (besides crushing Dennis-Yarmourh) losing rhe remaining six games, includ- ing Barnstable on Turkey Doy, All in oil ir was a good seoson.
