G I R L S’ C R O S s c o u N T R Y The 1979 Girls Cross Country season is looked back upon as a rebuilding season. Coach John Carroll felt that this was due to the lack of par- ticipants. Although, he said that those who ran were able to hold their own through the season. The girls finished second in the D-Y Invitational, and were ninth in the Eastern Mass. Division II Meet. They split their two dual meets by beating Barnstable, but losing to D-Y. The season ended with a pleasing place in the Cape Cod Championship. Coach Carroll said that, “Maryann Marschall was the best point of the season . She ran an impressive 11th at the State Class Meet.
