FIELD HOCKEY TEAM: (front) Lynn O ' Neil, Ann Rich, Crista Jensen, Lorin Macedo, Leslie Daigle, Shari Patch, Stephanie Pine, (back) coach Maureen O’Brein, Jean Nolan, Linda Bevelander, Mary Baker, Cathy Baker, Leslie Reeves, Lynda Brunette and manager Suzanne Koelsch. Behind the leadership of coach Maureen O ' Brien and tri- captains Leslie Daigle, Crista Jensen and Lorin Macedo, this year ' s field hockey team recorded another outstanding season. The team qualified for the state tournament for the fifth straight year and finished a close second in the highly competitive SMC I with a 6-2-2 record. The Clippers breezed through the first half of the season virtually unscored upon until an unexpected TO loss to D-Y ended a 28 game undefeated streak and the Clippers return to their usual aggressive highly skilled level of play to defeat D-Y 1-0. The win also put Falmouth into state tournament play. Not only did the team experience the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, but found, time after time, the qualities synonomous with FHS field hockey; spirit, pride, enthusiasm, and determination. All-Stars were wing Leslie Daigle (3rd year honors), halfback Jean Nolen, and inner Linda Bevelander. Awards went to Shari Patch: unsung hero, senior Stephanie Pine: most improved, senior Leslie Daigle: most valuable offense, and junior Jean Nolen: most valuable defense. Much credit also goes to coach O’Brien, high scorer crista Jensen, goalie Lorin Macedo, along with the entire team for a successful season. F I 27 orm
