Class History, continued After much bitter debating, it was finally decided to have a prom in honor of the Senior g1ass.t Immegigtiiyently 's' the commit ees e an o,wor - , f tgeceglglsg gggiseggbegan to worry, ang so did the girefs. At this critical period these familiar phrases Were heard in the halls and class rooms: WDid you get a bid yet?W, WHave you asked her yet?H, HAre you getting a new formal9Y, NDQ you think she'11 go with me?N, Nhrother, are you kids , ding?N. The long awaited event came on Lay 6 and the beautiful decorations, the excellent program, and most of all the fine spirit, contributed to its overwhelming success Despite the rainy weather, which is traditionally imminent at the class picnics, the Juniors had an enjoyable time eating and playing football at their picnic held at Pitherfs Point. Many of the more juvenile Juniors,.who found gleeful pleasure in swinging on the swings, will recalldthe ill effects suffered as a result of this childish escama e. 1The members of the class reached the zenith of their school careers when they became Seniors in 1944. Those who received the honor of leading the class in its final year were: Fon Johnson, Iresidentg Jennie Harkow, Vice President, Sheila Oliver, Secretary, and Roy Johnson, Treasurer. Miss Pirkl and Nr. Tatting were given the difficult task of managing the uncontrollable occupants of I Homeroom 106. Perhaps students will remember their last homecoming as being the nicest ever witnessed. Thelma Kleppe and Archie Villalta, both Seniors, were chosen as King and Queen of the event. The class members regained the self-respect they lost at the st. Patrick's party held in the preceding year by behaving like good Seniors should at the Junior-Senior Valentine's party. This party was considered an all-around success and its memories will remain in the hearts of both Juniors and Seniors for many years to come. , The Senior girls and boys upheld their splendid basketball record by again defeating the other classes in the inter-class basketball tournament held in March. Jeanne Reuter, Bob Hillstead, and Peter Krogseng were the Seniors who participated in the district speech tourna- ment at Eveleth. Peter and Bob entered the finals and Rob was qualified to go to the regional contest in Cloquet where he won a superior rating with his dramatic selection At present, the Seniors are preparing and practicing for their class play, The Night of January 16, which will be held on April 26 and 27. It is under, the 'direction of Mr. Mahovlich and the cast includes Sheila Oliver, Jeanne Reuter, Bob Fillstead, Peter Krogseng, Eddie Dworsky, Mavis Jornlin, Barbara HcDevitt, Hulda Nelson, Marjorie Bruggeman, Jean Radosvich, Hildur Oliver, Nina Stepoway, Don Johnson, Kenneth Freneman, hilton Bancroft, Roy Johnson, Fill Fulton,
