Wl9uL-L5 Basketball Seasonw At the beginning of the l9uh-45 basketball season, a large group of promising athletes reported to Coach Scheela. Among them were only two veterans from last year's team. These were Ray Harala and Robert Evans. This meant that the team would have little experience and would be handicapped greatly as a result. This was later proved as the season progressed. The Falls had won but one game in seven. This they had taken from a favorite Tower team, which had an average height of 6 feet l inch while compared to the Falls aver- age of 5 feet 9 inches. This also was probably the best game the Falls played all year. In the middle of March the Falls lads journeyed to Virginia to play in the District Tournament. Losing to the favorite Aurora team, the last game of the season came to an end. It also meant the last game of basketball for the graduating Seniors during their high school career. The squad was composed of the following players: Ray Harala CCapt.J Richard Thompson Robert Evans Edgar Terry Gene Koerbitz A Dale Hamilton Milton Kochaniuk Howard Millette Richard Brown Art Turrenne Chester Wagner Darrel Gustafson Bob Bolstad - Student Manager The following are the scores of the season: Cook ---- 52 Falls-3A Cook ---- 39 N 20 Gilbert- - 35 W 27 Eveleth- - 30 W 20 Virginia- -Sl U 31 Tower- - - 36 N L5 Roseau- - -L2 N A7 Ely ---- L8 N 19 Biwabik- - 33 W 28 Baudette- -36 N A3 Mt.
