E-iLLQ-,1f.Q9.T.1.?AL1J-QF. 1.42- The football team that started practicing in Septem- ber was not very hopeful as far as victories were concerned. At the top of the list of a hard scheduledwas Virginia. That hard battle with Virginia's Blue Devils proved that the Broncos were nothing to be scoffed at. Milt Kochiniuk pass- ed, Ray Harala received, Thompson dashed, Ruelle galloped and HBuckN'Johnson plunged. The line held and the final score was Virginia 7 and International Falls 6. It was a heartbreaker, but it filled the team with spirit. The rest of the game was of the same quality. Although the wins were few, the scores were close. Probably the Fal1's greatest loss was when Aldo De Mar- ki was called to the army. The preceding spring, Aldo had been chosen captain for the fall of '44, but before season opened, he had to leave. As a second choice, the team pick- ed Don Johnson to be the Fall's captain.
