The Sensor Class Hrstorv Early rn the fall of the year 1944 the halls of Falls Crty Hrgh School were occupred by many students and onee rn a whrle you would frnd one of us No one seemed to know just what we were for they couldnt get close enough to us to make an rnvestrgatron We were taken under the wrngs of Mrss Ickman and Mr Hatch and soon we were mtroduced to the rest of the guys and gals as people too Yes you guessed rt we were Freshres and were scar ed to death We Just werent used to those great brg Junlors and Senrors We were a lrttle hard to organrze fMrss Ickman and Mr Hatch wrll tell youj but rt wasn t too long before we had organrzed suffrcrently to select class offrcers Our Freshman actrvrtres were placed rn the very capable hands of our presrdent Dwrght Smrth our vrce presrdent Paddy Jo Krause and our secretary treasur er Betsv Hrxson In our Freshman year we were very well represented rn athletres by the grrls seven teen to be exaet All of them recerved frrst local awards The seventeen grrls were as follows Paddy Jo Krause Barbara Yoder Olga Koehler Margaret Duey Betsy Hrxson Barbara Carter Mary Lee Shouse Joan H11 genfeld Florence Seeger Mary C Broadstone Barbara Mrller Pat Moore Barbara Schlereth Drane Redmond Edna Dryer June Allen and Peggy Mar terry The next year srnee we were better pearance md actrvrtres and those monsters the Junrors and Senrors were not nearly as large as they prevrously had seemed We were nothrng but Sophomores but at any rate we were not those seared lrttle Freshmen any more In thrs year we chose Barbara Carter as our presrdent Margaret Duey as vrce presr dent and Dave Brenner seeretary treasurer We were very suffrerently and effrcrently represented rn our Sophomore year rn school aetrvrtres At the Drstrret Musrc Contest we were represented by Glorra Bendrck Rosalee Rreger Norma Lee Constantrne Paddy Jo Krause Barbara Yoder and Betsy Hrxson rn grrls athletres by Paddy Jo Krause Barbara Yoder Olga Koehler Margaret Duey Betsy Hrxson Barbara Carter Mary Lee Shouse Joan Hrlgenfeld Florence Seeger Mary C Broadstone Barbara Mrller Pat Moore Bar bara Schlereth Edna Dryer June Allen and Peggy Marteny They all recerved second local awards In football we were represented by Har old Boswell Jrm Waddle and Chad Taylor Chad left us at the close of the year Jrm Waddle represented us rn basketball and rn track Dave Brenner Rex Jones and Jrm Conn represented us Well now that half of our hrgh sehool days were gone we moved rnto the upper elass bracket and thus we became those horrrble monsters that we were so scared of when we were Freshres It gave us a great deal of satrsfactron to thrnk of ourselves as upper classmen wrth the prrvrlege of berng ealled such whrch status rs reserved only for we stu dents of the eleventh and twelfth grades No longer drd we have to look up to the upper classmen as our superrors for we now were the upper classmen to whom the Freshmen and Sophomores were prrvrleged to look for ad vrce As leaders of the leaders of those to be lead we chose the follovxrrr elass offreers Rex Jones presrdent Jrm Waddle vree presrdent Jrm Conn secretary Joan Hrlgenfeld treas urer The grrls of the Junror Class played rn rmportant roll rn extra currreular rctrxrtres thrs year for many Junror errls were seen rt the Drstrrct Musre Contest and manv frrst st rte awards were rssued to grrls of the Junror Class who had earned them Grrls who took part rn the Drstrrct Musre Contest were Barbara Yo der Paddy Jo Krause Betsy Hrxson Phyllrs the G A A grrls who recerved frrst state awards were Betsy Hrx on Paddy Jo Kr ruse Barbara Carter La Verna Cornford Margaret Duey Maralee Wrekrser Mrrv Lee Shouse Peggy Marteny Edna Dryer Olga Koehler Florence Seeger Barbrra Mrller Prt Moore and Barbara Yoder In several extra eurrreular retrxrtres a few boys were seen also In football the letter wrnners were Bob Burdrek Harold Boswell Dave Brenner Bernard MeDermott Rex Jones Wrlbur Sehertel Jrm Conn and Jrm Waddle and rn basketball Jrm Conn and Jrm Waddle won letters Jurrror boxs reeervrng track awards were Joe Fleskoskr Irm Conn Jrm Waddle Rex Jones Dvxrght Snrrth Wrlbrrr Schertel and Dave Brenner Late rn the year of 1946 De eember 13 to be exaet a three act faree was presented by the Junror Class rn the F C H S audrtorrum It was due to the efforts of Mrss Hourrgan the 0 I , - v v 'e ' i l - K' I X' I 7 U . .
